การใช้ is ในประโยคตัวอย่างนี้ ถูกต้องไหมครับ?

ขอสอบถามหน่อยครับ คือ ผมไปอ่านข้อความมาจาก 2 แหล่ง แต่ทั้งคู่ใช้ is เป็น verb ของประโยค ผมเลยสงสัยว่าทำไมเค้าไม่ใช้ are แทนครับ เพราะมี noun 2 ตัว คือ interaction และ exchange อะครับ?
