We initiate on Group Lease Public Co Ltd (GL TB) with a ‘SELL’ rating
and a target price of THB2.77, 88% below the current share price.
The company appears to have been inflating its earnings through related
party loans (booked through a network of shell companies), and has also
been too aggressive in cutting loan provisions.
The controlling shareholder and CEO-Chairman of the company has a
track record of dubious dealings in Japan, where he has recently been hit
with a massive fine by regulators.
