Thailand player Ajcharaporn Kongyot: I’m really happy to win today. It was such a tough match and we tried to avoid making simple mistakes. Our veteran players led us younger players really well, and I think that was great.

Thailand coach Danai Sriwacharamaytakul: The best thing about today was that we played as we planned maximizing the particular skills of each player. Brazil has such a high block and they’re strong, and they can play quickly. So it was tough to get every point against them. They made some service errors today, and that gave us a chance to play our games, to play our combinations. And I think we played as a team, together, and the result was a good game.

We tended to be a bit passive today, lacking in concentration at times. Their playing style is very different from us, and we didn’t adjust very well. We play Japan tomorrow in a very important match, so we need to emotionally adjust and make sure we’re ready for that.

We tried to serve aggressively, and not let them get into their style of volleyball. But we just couldn’t stop them, because their setter is really skilled. We need to come together as a team if we hope to do our best tomorrow.
