ชื่อนี้มีที่มาค่ะ . . . . . . .  ( อ้ะ อ้ะ อย่าคิดเป็นอย่างอื่นนะคะ อิ อิ อุ อุ )





Quincy  Delight  Jones , Jr. เป็นคนที่มีความสามารถมากค่ะ  เค้าเป็นทั้ง record  producer, conductor, arranger, composer,

musician , television  producer, film  producer, instrumentalist  และ  humanitarian ค่ะ

( ขอเรียกว่าคุณ Q ตามไมเคิลนะคะ ) คุณ Q เจอะเจอกับไมเคิลเมื่อตอนที่ไมเคิลอายุได้ 12 ปี

และได้ร่วมงานกันอย่างจริงจังในการถ่ายทำภาพยนต์เรื่อง " The  Wiz " ในปีค.ศ. 1978 ค่ะ

คุณ Q เป็นโปรดิวเซอร์ให้ไมเคิลถึง 3 อัลบัม -:-  Off  the  Wall (1979) , Thriller (1982) , BAD (1987)

และยังเป็นโปรดิวเซอร์และผู้ควบคุมวงให้กับเพลงการกุศล " We  Are  the  World " ในปีค.ศ. 1985 ด้วยค่ะ


ในช่วงนั้นไมเคิลยังเคร่งครัดในนิกาย Jehova อยู่เค้าจะไม่สบถหรือพูดคำหยาบคายเลย  แต่จะใช้คำว่า " Smelly  Jelly " แทน

คุณ Q กล่าวว่า  

" When  it  got  good, we'd  say  That  was  funky . He  said  -  Don't  say  that , it's  s m e l l y    j e l l y ."


คุณ Bruce  Swedien  -  sound  engineer ที่ทำงานกับไมเคิลมานานกล่าวว่า

" When  Michael  liked  a  groove, he'd  call  it  S m e l l y    J e l l y

Also  michael  doesn't  curse , when  he  wants  to  say  a  bad  word , he'll  simply  call  it  s m e l l y .


และตัวไมเคิลเองได้กล่าวในการให้สัมภาษณ์กับนิตยสาร Ebony ว่า

" Quincy  calls  me  a  nickname  :-  S m e l l y . Back  then , especially  back  then  -  I  say  a  few  swear  words  now

but  especially  then , you  couldn't  get  me  to  swear . So  I  would  say , that's  a  s m e l l y  song .

That  would  mean  it's  so  great  that  you're  engrossed  in  it . So  he  would  call  me  S m e l l y .
