Trip to Bukit Jalil by Analayo (from www.pantip.com)
http://pantip.com/topic/33014491
I had a chance to travel with thousand of Thai fans in a special trip to witness the historical moment in Bukit Jalil, one of the world best statdium.
A hundred thousand of Malaysian fans had summoned the roaring Harimau Malaya inside Bukit Jalil at its maximal capacity.
Regardless of the incredible atmosphere, we were all impressed by their hospitality and friendship even after the match.
This is such an invaluable experience I love to share.
Gear Up
it took me 3 months saving the budget for the trip to watch AFF final in Kuala Lumpur.
I got a special rate from one of the low-cost airline.
Trip cost including the ticket could be up to ten thousand baht.
To Bukit Jalil
I caught a morning flight and arrived KLIA pretty early on the match day.
It's not until afternoon that we could checked in the hotel located nearby the stadium.
Moving our ass to Bukit Jalil was not that easy. We needed to find a train station, get a ticket among ten thousands of people heading the same way.
Wearing Thai team red jersey was kind of scary but it was totally not what we expected.
Malaysian fans gave us a full hand in leading us to the stadium with a welcome smile.
They also applauded our young team in the first leg and rapid growth of our Thailand Premier Leaque over the recent years.
Arriving at the stadium, there's a huge amount of Malaysian fan gathering, shouting and singing together.
Such an intimidating atmosphere not even going inside the Bukit Jalil.
Away-Team gate led us to the 2nd floor of the Big Bowl naming Thailand Team zone.
How large is the 6-digit stadium? the only way to find out is ... to sit in there!
FYI, our Thai team supporters comprise three distinctive groups; Ultras Thailand, Cheer Thai Power and South Curve Unit Thailand.
Normally we split but we are all one on that day.
Ultra Malaya
Hundred thousand people shout is considered intense but Hundred thousand people sing the same song is holy intimidating.
Ultra Malaya was capable of leading the whole stadium for the entire game.
You never ever want to play away game in Bukit Jalil.
Game Start
I ain't say anything about the match facts but rather reflect what was happening in our team zone.
They got an early break with a penalty.
Honestly, we were simply shocked rather freaked out and did not know exactly how and why it was given as a penalty.
Second goal came at last, in the chaos we heard only the haunted scream and saw the ball rolling in the net.
Deja vu, we lost three times in the final.
I witnessed one of the three 7 yeas ago.
Khairu Amari drove furious effort pass Kawin even the socre for Singapore and turned the whole stadium into serenity.
During the half-time break, some Malaysian fan climbed into the border of our zone.
A little bit scary but nothing happened.
Malaysian police officer eventually came and gave us security.
Although Malaysia grabbed a 2-0 lead, we kept shouting and cheering up our players unstoppably on the second half.
A foul on someone led to the 3rd goal. Safiq lined up the free-kick and curled it neatly into the corner followed by
the loudest screaming applause I have ever heard in my life.
I slept only two hours last night. My heart was beating real fast. I got a clammy handshake.
Most of us were all the same.
Our cheer leaders could be the last soldier standing.
My friends told me not to watch it and get some rest otherwise I could be black out or fall.
At last, I decided to watch the game till the last minute waiting for our last hope.
Turning Point
15 minutes left, our cheer team seemed mentally exhausted.
We both looked at each other and tried to accept our lost.
Sarach Yuyen was brought down 20 metres from the Malaysian goal.
'That's it, That's what we are waiting for!'
Sarach had his free-kick blocked by Farizal (what a great save!) but the rebound fell for Chappuis who fired the ball into the net
and put Thailand ahead on away goal.
It was a heart-stopping moment. We all jumped like hell and tried to scream out but it all turned to be crying madly.
Bukit Jalil now heard us.
Now the last goal, I saw Thai player passed the ball to the center and number 9 tee it up to number 18. I talked to myself pass it 'to the left, damm it'
he didn't pass it to anybody but decided to hit it real hard.
Like a slow motion movie in my head, ball was fired from his left foot and curled to the right upper corner like a rocket!
Champion
As our tradition, we called 'Malaysia, Malaysia' as an honor to their great spirit of play.
We saw our hero walking toward our zone and said 'Thank you'
'Zico' is our living legend.
Last time we won AFF cup Thai national team had him as a key player and now
he brought us back to the podium like an old time.
Ultra Malaya was standing and gaving us a big applause.
It's our great honor to play with them.
The police escorted us out of the stadium.
We were initially concerned about the safety but what we experienced was full of hospitality and sportmanship.
They congratulated us and we took a photo altogether.
Game ended and we're all friends.
Football speaks the same language around the world.
