The European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) has stopped an illegal shipment of more than 4,000 tonnes of textile waste from Italy to Türkiye which was falsely declared as reuseable goods.

Last week at Basel OEWG-15, EIA helped to advance the case for stronger global controls on the trade in used textiles and textile waste.

This is exactly why stronger rules are needed – but there’s still much more to do.
