• A CNN team has witnessed several explosions in Caracas, Venezuela and reported some areas of the city were without electricity. The first blast was recorded at approximately 1.50am local time on Saturday (0.50am E.T.).

• The Venezuelan government accused the US of carrying out an attack on Caracas and the states of Miranda, Aragua and La Guaira and President Nicolás Maduro has signed a state of emergency.

• The cause of the explosions is unclear, but US President Donald Trump has repeatedly warned that the US is preparing to take new action against alleged drug trafficking networks in Venezuela. The Pentagon and US Southern Command are referring CNN’s request for comment to the White House.
