Your coverage was arranged through an independent agent or broker, not directly with us.
We've noticed some suspicious activity. Because of this, we are urgently reviewing all policies arranged by these agents.
We want to be open with you about what’s happening. We have decided to freeze all accounts related to these agents while we conduct our review.
During this time, we will still review claims under your policy, but please note that this process may take longer than usual and will include an enhanced adjudication process; additionally, no guarantees of payment will be made directly with hospitals and you will need to pay medical costs yourself and submit them for evaluation. There are no guarantees of payment for claims, or that your policy will remain in force and whilst the outcome of the investigation is unknown (including the future of your policy) you may want to look into other coverage options to ensure you are not left without cover for potential medical needs.
Please review your Regency for Expats policy brochure carefully, including all terms and conditions.
We are also investigating the events and circumstances surrounding the setting up of your policy to ensure they are legitimate. We want to make sure that all parties have acted properly, including the agent, who has been and remains the ultimate beneficial recipient of the largest portion of your premium.
We have prioritized the urgent review and investigation process to ensure you are kept informed without unreasonable delay.
In addition, we have made our regulator aware of this matter, and will work with them throughout the investigation process through to a conclusion.

A preliminary investigation has been completed by independent investigators and legal advisors. We have shared the findings of the investigation with our regulatory body - which has sole authority and jurisdiction over Regency for Expats - as well as the insurance manager, who has committed support to Regency´s handling of the matter based on the nature of the activities discovered.
In our previous email to you, we confirmed that claims would still be reviewed under your policy, in accordance with an enhanced adjudication process. This absolutely remains the case.
Additionally, it was confirmed that no guarantees of payment will be made directly with hospitals, and moving forward, the terms, conditions, definitions, exclusions and benefits relating to semi-private hospital rooms will apply as per your policy wording. Please ensure you understand the room eligibility which your chosen policy provides.
As it applies to claims moving forward, we want to outline the details of the enhanced claims adjudication process.
Given the findings of the preliminary investigation in terms of unusual activity, it is essential to ensure the legitimate and genuine needs of members are met, whilst also protecting Regency against false, knowingly ineligible, or claims otherwise raised contrary to the terms, conditions, definitions and exclusions of the contract of insurance.
The enhanced adjudication process will follow the following format:
You will be required to pay medical costs yourself, and submit your claim for reimbursement to the Regency Global Assistance Centre.
Step 1 – Identification Verification
You will be asked to complete a declaration and provide a certified proof of identity.
Step 2 – Electronic Submission
You will be able to submit a preliminary claim electronically for initial review.
Step 3 – Claim Review
You will be asked to send your original claims documents, along with any supporting documents and information required, to Regency´s registered address in Nevis.
Step 4 – Evaluation
Once all documents are reviewed, and the claim is evaluated, it will be adjudicated in accordance with the terms, conditions, definitions and exclusions of the contract of insurance.
All claims submitted will follow the above enhanced claims adjudication process moving forward, and we want to reassure you that claims under this process will be reviewed as a matter of priority, to ensure that insured members with legitimate claims receive prompt, fair and reasonable service.
Regency for Expats will continue to fulfil their obligations under the terms, conditions, definitions and exclusions of the contract of insurance, and will continue to assist you moving forward, subject to further legal, investigatory and regulatory advice; of which may evolve due to the ongoing investigatory nature of this matter.
