        With the Asian Volleyball Confederation looking at a new host for the Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship,the PNVF has received an offer to organize the event.

        The continental meet should have taken place in Jiangmen but China withdrew. “China withdrew its hosting. That is why the AVC wrote the federation if we would like to organize and host that said championship,” PNVF National Team Commission head Tony Boy Liao bared on Radyo5’s Power & Play.

        If the Philippines is granted hosting, the women’s national indoor volleyball team will get to participate. "We have discussed it already in the executive board,”   Liao said, adding that the country’s proposal states that it will be held under a bubble set-up.

        Already qualified for the Asian Championship are China, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Ch.Taipei, Iran, Indonesia, Australia, India, and Hong Kong. AVC is targeting 16 nations for the tournament, which serves as a qualifier for the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.
        ทีมที่ผ่านเข้าไปรอใน ชชอช แล้วได้แก่ จีน ปุ่น ไทย หลี ไต้หวัน คาซัค อิหร่าน อินโด ออส อินเดีย ฮ่องกง , AVC วางเป้าหมายสำหรับรายการนี้ไว้ 16 ชาติ ซึ่งจะเป็นการคัดเลือกไป ชชล 2022

        If the bid passes, the country will host the event for the third time. Back in 1997, the ninth edition of the tournament took place in Manila. Twenty years later, the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna hosted the event. The Philippines finished in eighth place both times. China and Japan topped the tournaments in 1997 and 2017, respectively.

         The highest finish the women’s indoor team notched in the event was fifth place back in 1983. The PNVF is also looking to send the men’s indoor team to Japan for the Asian Men’s Championship. The tournament that will be hosted by Chiba and Funabashi from September 12 to 19 still has one slot left for Southeast Asia as Japan’s ranking spot has been allocated to Thailand by virtue of its hosting.
The last time the men’s team competed in the meet was back in 2015. It finished in 15th place.
