UK banks scrap dividends as recession fears build across Europe
Barclays, Santander, Lloyds, NatWest, Standard Chartered and HSBC confirmed late on Tuesday that they will not be paying out dividends in 2020.
The European Central Bank (ECB) last week also called on banks across the euro zone to refrain from dividend payments and share buybacks until October.
