Health officials in Thailand said on Thursday that a tourist visiting Hong Kong was the source of infection for 11 people in the country who have caught the new coronavirus, although SAR authorities said they had no knowledge of the case.
“The Hong Kong tourist came alone and already went back. The 11 infected are all Thai,” the Reuters news agency quoted director-general of the Communicable Diseases Department, Sopon Iamsirithawon, as saying.
But at the daily briefing of Hong Kong's Centre For Health Protection, officials said they did not know which Hong Kong person the Thai authorities were referring to and they had not been made aware of any infected person returning from Thailand.
