KUALA LUMPUR, March 6 - The government has ordered the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to not send the national team to Pyongyang against North Korea in the 2019 Asian Cup qualifiers later this month for safety Harimau Malaysia.

FAM secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd. Amin said the order had been communicated to him by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Khairy Jamaluddin on the telephone this morning and followed a letter from the Ministry of Youth and Sports signed secretary-general Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali this afternoon.
"The letter stated that the Malaysian Government has agreed that the Harimau Malaysia did not take part to the match in Pyongyang's policies and consideration of safety factors.
"The Malaysian government's decision was made after the matter discussed in the Cabinet meeting held recently," said Hamidin in a press release today.
