Apple's iOS 10 update goes wrong on some iPhones
For some iPhone owners, the launch of iOS 10 is a time to gleefully share Mario stickers or use Siri to call an Uber.
Then there are those staring at a very expensive slab that is supposed to resemble a smartphone, but no longer does, after Apple's iOS 10 update rendered some of those devices useless.
Early updaters complained on Twitter that the iOS 10 update, available Tuesday, was turning their smartphones into bricks, which basically means the phone will not operate without reinstalling the operating system and your personal data.
In a statement, Apple said the issue has been "quickly resolved" and impacted a small number of users during the first hour of availability. In the mean time, if you haven't done so already, you should back up your iPhone before downloading iOS 10.
