FIVB WORLD RANKINGS
"Thai women’s spikers drop from 13th to 14th"

Just one day after the completion of the 2016 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Finals on July 10 at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok, where Brazil captured record 11th title, the world’s volleyball-governing body FIVB have updated the world rankings on July 11.
Among the top 10 teams at the updated rankings, only China suffered a sudden drop from world No.2 to No.3. USA, though going down 2-3 to Brazil in World Grand Prix final showdown, remain No.1 in the FIVB World Rankings, while Brazil replaced China at the second spot. The Chinese came in third place, with Russia, Japan, Serbia, Dominican Republic, Italy, Korea and Turkey in fourth to 10th places respectively.

The Netherlands jumped from world No.14 to No.11, while Argentina remain at No.12. Germany, which finished 12th at this year's World Grand Prix and will be relegated to Group 2 next year, dropped from world No.11 to No.13 and Thailand from world No.13 to No.14.

FIVB Communications Director Mr Richard Baker informed that following a decision of the FIVB Board of Administration, the crucial points teams had achieved from their respective Continental Championship were removed and from now will not be taken into consideration for updating the FIVB World Rankings.
