- On the 15th march this year ,i was driving my motorbike on a Ban Phe road.I overtook a motorbike /side carriage and the next thing i know,i woke up in the local hospital (a sever concussion,3ribs,nose broken and injury to eye,bruises et.al) I was released the next day.I had/have no recollection of an accident
- Six weeks later the 29th April,I was stopped by the police on the BanPhe Beach road: arrested on the spot and accused of having
assaulted aFrenchch couple on the 15th March.
- I was taken to Rayong Police Station and booked (I am discreetly told that if I disburse bhts 200k,the case would disappear-a witness to this matter was/is present-I refuse!)
Subsequently,I was immediately sentenced to 2 weeks jail by a judge (apparently one)sine the procedure was over a cctv camera!
I asked for an interpreter: refused.I asked for an interpreter refused.I aske to make a phone-call:refused.I'm told that the Ban Phe Police Inspecter,Mr.Kittipong Ngobudda has filed the assault charge on behalf of a french couple,who have already left the country weeks ago.I replied that I don't and have never known or met any french couple,to no avail.I was chained and taken to the local prison.
-Wnen released,that's when I caledl the British Consulate and spoke to Mr.Harry who simply dismissed me. I sought local legal counsel (albeit not afficient at all.)
-I have not sighned any declaration/admission what- so- ever and I was told that if within 84 days of french couple doesn't reinstate their accusation,the case will be dropped.
-84 days passed the police calls my legal adviser that they have decided to prolong the delay by another 84 days and I may not leave the country.At renewal of my"Thai 90 day stay" I'm told again by the immigration officer that I may not leave the country.
why why why?????
