The temple was first founded in 1501 under King Mengrai and given the name Wat Srisuphan Aram and this temple has renovated in 2004. This is most important in the temple is a silver-coloured building which shimmers in the sunlight and the Ubosot is using alloy and zinc-silver.
Location
If you are approaching from Chiang Mai Gate, head down Wualai Road from where you can turn right into either Soi 2 or Soi 3 with both lanes leading to Wat Srisuphan. If you turn right into soi 2 it’s then the first left where you will see a sign saying ‘100 metres to the silver ubosot’. it's so easy to get there by walking, motorbike, bicycle or driving the personal car.
On Saturday evenings, this area has the Saturday Market or Wualai Walking Street. This market open-air will be set up for the famous handicraft area. you can enjoy the local foods and Thai traditional performances. The market starts from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
