In 1959, American Physicist name Richard Feynman talk about an idea,the possibility that we can manipulate atoms or molecules in a microscopic scale, the technology we now called “Nanoscience” . Mainly we have 2 ways to create nanostructure. First by etching or something like that. Secondly, create via nano scale self-assembly method such as Epitaxy method.
In 1990s Silicon received attention about it's nanostructure because of the discovery of efficient, bright photoluminescence (PL) from porous silicon at room temperature. Later Canham and Lehmann separately found that the visible photoluminescence (PL) was caused by quantum confinement. After that scientists have confirm with Canham and Lehmann's study.
