สำนักข่าวหุ้นอินไซด์( 6 มกราคม 2558 )------ dtac today announced the appointment of Khun Prathet Tankuranun as the company’s new, acting Chief Technology Officer (CTO). One of his key responsibilities will be to continue the rapid rollout of dtac’s expanded network in Bangkok and 30 provinces across Thailand. Khun Khalid Shehzad steps down as CTO and will assume a new role in Telenor Group in Asia. The changes are effective as of January 15.
Khun Prathet has significant experience with dtac and first joined the company nine years ago. During the last 18 months, he served as CTO at Telenor Myanmar where he was part of the core team that successfully planned and launched a mobile network that catapulted a largely unconnected population into a digital future. Since September 2014, Telenor Myanmar has launched commercial services in the cities of Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay. The rapid rollout continues and the company now serves more than two million customers. Khun Prathet returned to dtac in November 2014 to assume the role as Head of Network Operations.
“Khun Prathet contributed to the achievement of Telenor Myanmar’s first and most important milestone: the commercial launch of its network. I wish him all the best in his next challenge ahead, especially the aggressive roll-out schedule of 6,500 sites in six months in the Bangkok Metropolitan Areas and 30 provinces across Thailand to regain dtac’s network perception and competiveness,” said Sigve Brekke, acting CEO in dtac.
Khun Khalid Shehzad has been with dtac for nearly four years and has contributed to developing its network and enhancing its technology platform. Among his critical projects were the launch of 3G High Speed Data Packet Access (HSPA) service on 850 MHz band in August 2011, one of the biggest network swaps in Telenor Group, covering more than 10,000 sites during 2012-2013 and the rolling out of 3G on 2100 MHz in 2013 to date and implement the charging and billing systems.
“I would like to thank Khun Khalid for his contribution to dtac over the past few years. Leveraging his extensive experience from dtac, I have asked him to lead network rollout and spectrum optimization projects in two other Telenor business units, in Bangladesh and Pakistan,” said Brekke.
