In 2012, Burmese American in San Francisco Bay Area have tried to establish the sister cities between San Francisco - Yangon for the honors of

Large Burmese Commnity in Daly City, Union City & Fremont City. The process is still under pending.

Majority of Burmese American here in Bay Area immigrated about 40 - 30 years ago. The first generation who immigrated here are Chinese ethnic and most of them are professionals.
