What am I supposed to do when the essay topics are so unclear and abstract.

I'm going to take the IELTS exams soon. And this is the topic I found on the internet.

It is said that activity without direction is change, and activity with direction is progress.

How far do you agree or disagree?

At first I illustrate about setting objectives or expectations to reach. And I gather the nearer we reach the goals, the further progression goes. But I cannot conclude anything with a good support idea.

I admit that I don't know what to do. And it makes me frustrated.

What do you think about the topic? And what will you do if the topic is so abstract.
