CAPABILITY =  Power to understand [in reference to things; means; holding power. หมายถึง ความสามารถกำลังการผลิตของเครื่องจักร หรือ ความจุของสิ่งของ ถ้าใช้กับคน หมายถึง ความสามารถที่จะแสดงออกทางด้านตำแหน่ง, ฐานะ ฯลฯ  เช่น .......
Ex: The capability of this machine is too low.
Ex: The capability of this bottle is one litre.
Ex:  He has the capability to become an ambassador.

ABILITY = Power to doing. หมายถึง ความสามารถในการกระทำของคน โดยทางร่างกายและสมอง เช่น
Ex: I have the ability to solve this problem.
Smart quote: Ability is nothing without opportunity. ความสามารถไม่มีประโยชน์ใดเลย ถ้าไม่มีโอกาสได้แสดงออก

TALENT หมายถึง ความสามารถพิเศษโดยทางธรรมชาติของคน มีความหมายหนักไปทาง ความสามารถในการละคร, ดนตรี, เล่นถาพยนต์, ร้องเพลง, เต้นรำ
Ex: He has a talent for singing.
Ex: A talent scout = แมวมอง
Smart quote: Genius is the gold in the mine; talent is the miner who works and brings it out.

GIFT หมายถึงความสามารถที่มีมาแต่กำเนิด เรียกได้ว่า "พรสวรรค์" เช่น
Ex: He has a gift for speaking
** ถ้าใช้กับสิ่งของ หมายถึง ของที่ได้มาเปล่าๆ ไม่ต้องเสียเงิน  เช่น ของกำนัล, ของขวัญ, ของชำร่วย
Ex: I gave the birthday gift to her yesterday.
