The effect of noise was found to be statistically significant
(P < 0.05) at all the high frequencies. This finding
indicates that at every high frequency tested, the exposed
subjects had raised hearing thresholds when compared
with the non-exposed subjects (regardless of age). The age
effect was also statistically significant (P < 0.0001) at each
high frequency tested. This indicates that as the agedecade
advanced, the mean hearing threshold increased
sympathetically, whether or not the subjects were exposed
to noise.
