Liverpool have launched a bid to sign Yevhen Konoplyanka from Dnipro after Brendan Rodgers revealed that he remains hopeful of making “a major signing” before the transfer window closes on Friday.
Dnipro are understood to be seeking a fee in excess of £15 million Konoplyanka but Liverpool’s owner, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), has approved a bid for the winger after losing out to Chelsea in the race to sign Mohamed Salah from Basle.
