BAGHDAD : Bombings across Baghdad killed at least 28 people and wounded scores more in busy commercial streets and a public square, Iraqi police said. The deadliest attack took place in the predominantly shia district of Bayaa, when a bomb in a parked vehicle detonated near car workshops, killing seven people and wounding 14. Violence in Iraq is at the highest leavel in at least five years and the highest level in at least five years and the capital has been targetted almost daily. More than 8,000 people have been killed this year, the United Nations says. REUTERS
