เธอได้เข้าร่วมการประกวด Miss Universe ปี 2005 ที่ประเทศไทยเป็นเจ้าภาพ
ในปีนั้น เธอคือหนึ่งในตัวเก็งเลยทีเดียว
ด้วยผมที่ยาวดำขลับ นัยตาดูเศร้าๆของเธอ ทำให้เธอเป็นขวัญใจของใครหลายๆคนแน่นอน
ซึ่งในการประกวดนั้น เธอก็ได้รับตำแหน่งที่5ไปครอง (ปีนั้นNatalie Glebova ได้1ค่ะ)
เธอได้เสียชีวิตลงจากการฆาตกรรม เมื่อวันที่ January 6, 2014 ด้วยวัยเพียง 29 ปี ณ ประเทศ Venezuela

Thomas Berry, 39, and former Miss Venezuela, Monica Spear Mootz, were murdered by thugs after their car broke down
A man described as Irish and his beauty queen wife were gunned down in front of their five-year-old daughter during a roadside robbery in Venezuela, media in the South American country have reported.
Thomas Henry Berry, 39, and his wife Monica Spear Mootz, 29, were murdered last night on the Puerto-Cabello - Valencia highway by armed raiders.
Local media, www.eluniversal.com, have reported that Mr Berry is Irish and they were held up after their car broke down. Their bodies were discovered in the vehicle.
They have also claimed that the couple's five-year-old daughter was injured in the leg and is now under police protection while being treated for her injuries.
Ms Spear was crowned Miss Venezuela in 2004 and later went on to become an actress.
Media in Venezuela are reporting that her husband, Mr Berry, is Irish, and that the couple were separated.
The Department of Foreign Affairs have said they are currently looking into the case with the Mexican Embassy.
Tributes poured into Ms Spear Mootz' Instagram account today after news of her murder broke, with fans describing how unfair life was and expressing their sympathy to her and her family.
She posted the video below just six hours before she was gunned down at 10pm, local time in Venezuela.
