Coccidiosis is a protozoan disease of almost universal importance  in  poultry  industry. This  protozoa causes severe economic loss because it can multiply in the intestinal tract resulting in intestinal lesions,  bloody  diarrhea and high mortality. The mainly control of  coccidiosis is  anticoccidial  drug  that may be  accumulate  in poultry  products and  increase development  of drug resistance. Alternated  strategies for controlling the disease are detergents and good sanitary environment that could decrease the number of oocysts contaminated in poultry house. In addition, various  types of  vaccine  and phytotherapy can  increase  respondent of  poultry’s immunity. New researches bring a lot of new strategies for controlling the disease such as recombinant  vaccine, plant extraction and  drug resistance in different Eimeria species cause changing trend to control and prevent coccidiosis in poultry in order to improve food safety in poultry products and decrease the cost of production in poultry industry.
