สำนักข่าวซินหัวรายงานว่า เวลา 7.37 น. วันที่ 20 กรกฏาคมที่ผ่านมา ที่ศูนย์ยิงส่งดาวเทียมไท่หยวน จีนใช้จรวด ลองมาร์ช หมายเลข 4-C ยิงดาวเทียมทดลองวิทยาศาสตร์เทคโนโลยี 3 ดวงขึ้นสู่สู่วงโคจรที่กำหนดไว้ในอวกาศเป็นผลสำเร็จ
ดาวเทียม 3 ดวงดังกล่าวมีภารกิจสำคัญได้แก่ การค้นหาตำแหน่งและระบุพิกัด ของเศษชิ้นส่วนต่างๆในอวกาศ เพื่อส่งข้อมูลให้นักวิทยาศาตร์บนโลกได้ใช้ประกอบการวางแผนเส้นทางส่งจรวดขึ้นสู่วงโคจรได้อย่างปลอดภัยในครั้งต่อๆไป การทดลองใช้งานหุ่นยนต์ ตลอดจนทดลองเทคนิคการบำรุงรักษาและซ่อมแซมยานในอวกาศเป็นต้น
