Robert Amsterdam wins American Lawyer Global Legal Award

International lawyer, and Spear's legal columnist, Robert Amsterdam has won the prestigious American Lawyer Global Legal Award for global pro bono dispute of the year.
Amsterdam, founding partner with Dean Peroff of Amsterdam & Peroff, was awarded this prize for his work representing Dr Georges Tadonki in the United Nations Dispute Tribunal. Dr Georges Tadonki successfully challenged the UN after he was fired as head of the UN's Office for the Co-Ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) in Zimbabwe having attempted to warn UN headquarters of an oncoming cholera epidemic in the country.
As Spear's international relations columnist, Robert Amsterdam has reported on politically sensitive international legal issues, from the nefarious use of Interpol red notices to China's investment in Africa.
