CIMB GROUP HOLDINGS BERHAD (“CIMB” OR “COMPANY”)
PROPOSED DUAL LISTING OF ORDINARY SHARES OF RM1.00 EACH IN CIMB (“CIMB SHARES”) ON THE STOCK EXCHANGE OF THAILAND (“SET”) (“PROPOSED SET LISTING”)
Reference is made to the announcements dated 16 November 2009 in relation to CIMB’s proposal to undertake the Proposed SET Listing and the subsequent announcement dated 25 May 2011 in relation to the decision to put the Proposed SET Listing on hold due to various key regulatory
CIMB Investment Bank Berhad (“CIMB-IB”) on behalf of the Board of Directors of CIMB (“Board”) wishes to announce that in light of the recent regulatory developments in the Kingdom of Thailand (“Thailand”), the Board has decided to resume with the Proposed SET Listing. CIMB and its advisors will continue to hold discussions with the relevant authorities in Thailand on the details of the implementation of the Proposed SET Listing.
The Proposed SET Listing is currently subject to the approval of the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”), Bursa Securities Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Securities”), Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand, SET and any other relevant parties. Application for the Proposed SET Listing was made to the SC and the listing application was made to Bursa Securities on 9 May
Where appropriate, further announcements will be made on the above at a later date.
If all approvals are obtained and implementation details are ironed out, the Proposed SET Listing is expected to be implemented by the end of 2013.
