These conferences bring together international experts in economic theory, the economics of education and the labour market. The four consecutive events, a public lecture, a roundtable, and two conferences, form integral parts of the whole program. These will all be held at Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU), Bangkok, Thailand, from the 16th to 21st March 2013. Titles and sequences of the events are as follows:
• 16th March 2013: Public Lecture on the Global Economic Outlook by Professor Joseph E. Stiglitz (8.30 a.m. to 12.15 p.m.)
• 16th to 17th March 2013: International Economics Association Roundtable on Income Contingent Loans for Public Policy, convened by Professor Joseph E. Stiglitz and Professor Bruce Chapman
• 18th to 19th March 2013: ANU-DPU Conference on Education and Labour Market Outcomes
• 20th to 21st March 2013: ASEAN Tertiary Education: A Way Forward
This year we are very fortunate to have many outstanding speakers, including: Professor Joseph E. Stiglitz,
a Nobel Laureate economist from Columbia University; Professor David Card, a renowned labour economist from the University of California, Berkeley; and Professor Christoph M. Schmidt, the president of Rheinisch-Westfälisches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (RWI-Essen), Germany.
We have already received acceptances from participants from many countries worldwide to present their research and to discuss issues related to the various areas. The events are free of charge but participants will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs.
