SONGKRAN FESTIVAL CHIANG MAI
Songkran Festival, also known as Thailand Water Festival, is one of the most important festival for Thai people. In the past Songkran is Celebrated as the traditional Thai New Year where Thai people sprinkle water on the elders in show of respect and pay respect to Buddha images. In modern day Thailand, Songkran has developed into a major tourist attraction activity all over the country.
Chiang Mai is known as the prime destination for Songkran festival. With its official dates between 12 to 15 April, people from all over the country come to join the festival in Chiang Mai, making it the biggest event of the city. Along every street, people gather to enjoy themselves with high spirit.
