วันอาทิตย์ที่แล้วเรามีการแถลงข่าว มันค่อนข้างใช้เวลานาน อาจจะนานเกินกว่าที่จะมาเล่าทั้งหมด แต่ผมก็อยากจะย้ำเหมือนกับที่เคยพูดไปเมื่อสองสามวันที่แล้วว่า การใช้ Facebook มันมีข้อดีของมันอยู่ และนี่แหละ ผมมีบางสิ่งที่สำคัญที่อยากจะแจ้งให้ทราบ
ผมพูดถึงเรื่องของปีที่แล้ว เกี่ยวกับซูซุกิคัพและการที่เราอยู่ในเส้นทางที่ถูกต้องตอนสิ้นปี คุณวรวีร์พูดกับผมหลังจากทัวร์นาเม้นท์นั้นว่า
เราเอาชนะหัวใจแฟนบอลและตอนนี้นักเตะก็รักที่จะเล่นให้ทีมชาติ
ผมคิดว่าเขาพูดถูกต้องที่สุด
กลับมาดูที่ปัญหาทั้งหมดที่เรามีในตอนนั้น คือการที่ทีมชาติไม่ได้เล่นเลยเกือบหนึ่งปี เราจึงยินดีมากสำหรับความสำเร็จในซูซุกิคัพ ผมพูดถึงมันมากในการแถลงข่าวที่ผ่านมา และพูดถึงมันในอินเตอร์เน็ตด้วย
ผมแสดงความขอบคุณต่อผู้เล่น ซึ่งพวกเขาทำให้ผมภูมิใจ ไม่ใช่เพียงแค่ในฐานะที่ผมเป็นผู้ฝึกสอนทีมชาติไทย แต่โดยเฉพาะในฐานะที่ผมเป็นครูฟุตบอล เพราะพวกเขาพัฒนาขึ้น เราดีขึ้นและดีขึ้นหลังจากการฝึกซ้อมและหลังจากเกมส์แต่ละเกมส์ นั่นคือสิ่งที่เราอยากเห็น และนั่นคือสิ่งที่ทำให้เรามีความสุขที่จะทำงานร่วมกับเขาและดูพวกเขาเล่น

ผมแสดงความขอบคุณต่อคุณทนุศักดิ์ ซึ่งทำทุกอย่างที่เขาทำได้ และกลายเป็นคนที่ไม่เฉพาะแต่เป็นเพื่อนเท่านั้น แต่เป็นแฟนฟุตบอลตัวจริง ผมอยากจะกล่าวถึงคุณกิตติรัตน์ ผู้จัดการทีมคนใหม่ ที่ผมมีความยินดีที่จะได้พบกับเขาในเร็ว ๆ นี้เพื่อพูดคุยเกี่ยวกับสิ่งที่เราจะทำและควรต้องทำในตอนนี้และในอนาคต
และผมขอแสดงความขอบคุณต่อกับพวกคุณ แฟนบอลของเรา และประชาชนชาวไทย ผู้ซึ่งช่วยเราเป็นอย่างมาก และทำให้เรารู้สึกว่าเราไม่ได้เดินอย่างเดียวดาย มันมีความหมายมากต่อทีมงานของผมและตัวผมเอง ต่อผู้เล่น และต่อเราทั้งหมด
ผมเริ่มต้นจากสิ่งนั้น จากการที่เรายืนอยู่ในเส้นทางที่ถูกต้อง เพราะว่าตอนนี้เราอาจจะกำลังเดินผิดทิศ สิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นเมื่อสัปดาห์ที่แล้วไม่ช่วยอะไร มันน่าเสียใจเพราะเราตื่นเต้นมากที่จะเริ่มต้นปีด้วยการก้าวไปสู่ระดับที่สูงขึ้นของการเป็นมืออาชีพและความมั่นใจ
การที่เราไม่ได้เล่นกับ UAE นั่นคือความสูญเสียอย่างร้ายแรงต่อทีม มันน่าจะเป็นการเตรียมตัวที่ดี เกมส์กับทีมรวมดาราไม่ช่วยอะไรเราในตอนนี้ มันอาจจะดีที่จะได้เล่นเกมส์นั้น แต่สุดท้ายมันก็จะจบลงโดยไม่ได้ผลลัพธ์อะไรที่เป็นชิ้นเป็นอันต่อการเตรียมทีม ดังนั้นเราจึงเล่นกับราชบุรีจำนวน 3 ครั้ง ครั้งละ 30 นาที เกมส์นี้เป็นเกมส์การกุศล ผมแสดงขอบคุณต่อชาวราชบุรีด้วย
และแน่นอน การเลื่อนการเข้าค่ายเก็บตัว
ผมเรียกตัวผู้เล่นมาในวันที่ 29 ม.ค. แต่บางคนเลื่อนมันไปในวันที่ 1 ก.พ.
มันเป็นสิ่งที่ยอมรับไม่ได้ที่มีการเลื่อนการเก็บตัวโดยไม่ปรึกษาผม ยิ่งเราอยู่ในสถานการณ์แบบนี้ด้วย มันอาจจะฟังดูแปลก ๆ ในโลกของฟุตบอล แต่ในสถานการณ์ที่เราเจอ เวลาสองสามวันก็มีความหมายมาก ตอนนี้เรามีผู้เล่น 5 - 6 คนซึ่งมีอาการบาดเจ็บค่อนข้างหนัก การเริ่มต้นการเก็บตัวสามวันล่วงหน้าหมายถึงเวลาสามวันและสามคืนที่เราจะช่วยรักษาอาการบาดเจ็บนั้นและเราจะสามารถตัดสินใจได้ว่าเราจะส่งเขาลงสนามหรือไม่
โค้ชคือผู้ต้องรับผิดชอบในท้ายที่สุด และผมก็รู้ดีมากว่าทำไมผมถึงจัดโปรแกรมแบบนั้น นั่นคืองานของผม ดังนั้นโค้ชคือคนที่ซึ่งควรจะรับผิดชอบการจัดการเวลา นั่นหมายความว่าผมผิดหวังและผมแสดงความผิดหวังนั้นในการแถลงข่าว
ผมอยากจะกล่าวถึงการทำงานของผม โดยเฉพาะโปรเจ็คสองสามโปรเจ็คเพื่อพัฒนาฟุตบอลไทย สมาคมฟุตบอลเยอรมันจะเจรจากับเราเกี่ยวกับความร่วมมือในอนาคตอย่างจริงจัง และเราจะพูดคุยกับ AFF ในสิ้นเดือนนี้ ทุกคนหวังว่าเราจะได้รับการสนับสนุนจากประเทศอาหรับเพื่อกระชับมิตรให้เน้นแฟ้นขึ้น
แต่เราคิดเมื่อหลายสัปดาห์ที่แล้วว่ามันจะช่วยเราได้มากและเป็นโอกาสอันดีที่จะแนะนำประเทศไทยด้วย
จากประเทศแถบตะวันออกของโลกตะวันออก (ตามมุมมองของชาวเยอรมัน) มีเพียงญี่ปุ่นและจีนเท่านั้นที่มีบันทึกความเข้าใจซึ่งเป็นการร่วมมือกันอย่างแท้จริงกับสมาคมฟุตบอลเยอรมัน และการร่วมมือนั้นมีความหมายมาก ลองดูที่ญี่ปุ่นตอนนี้สิ ตอนนี้เรากำลังเจรจากับสมาคมฟุตบอลเยอรมันและมันจะดีมากถ้าเราจะได้ร่วมมือกัน ตอนนี้ คุณวรวีร์ มะกูดี ผู้จัดการสโมสรบางสโมสร แม้แต่เอกอัคราชฑูตเยอรมันประจำประเทศไทยกำลังทำงานร่วมกันอย่างเแน่นแฟ้นเพื่อทำให้ให้ก้าวที่ใหญ่หลวงนี้สำเร็จได้
กลับมาสู่สิ่งที่สำคัญที่สุดในตอนนี้ คือเกมส์กับคูเวต
เรามีสภาพจิตใจที่ดี เรามีความมั่นใจ เราอยู่ในฟอร์มที่ดี เรากระหายชัยชนะ เราต้องการจะไปออสเตรเลีย
เราอยากได้ยินเสียงเชียร์ของพวกคุณ เราอยากจะฉลองกับคุณ
เรารู้จักคู่ต่อสู้ของเราและเราจะทำทุกอย่างเพื่อชัยชนะ
มาร่วมกับเราในวันพุธนี้และร่วมสร้างก้าวแรกที่สำคัญยิ่งของปีนี้ไปด้วยกัน

Sunday we had a press conference. A bit longer than usual, maybe too long to release all of it.
But like I mentioned a few days earlier, that’s what Facebook is good for, so here we go, a few important things I mentioned:
I talked about the last year. About the Suzuki Cup and that we were on a good path when the year ended. Worawi Makudi told me after the cup:
We won the hearts of the fans and now the players love to play for the national team.<
He was totally right I think.
Recalling all the problems we had, that the national team didn’t play for nearly a year for example, we were very happy with the result we achieved at the Suzuki Cup. I talked a lot about that before in press conferences and also here in the internet.
I expressed my gratitude to the players, who make me proud not only as the trainer of the national team, but especially as a football teacher, because all of them improve. We became better and better with every training and from game to game. That’s what I want to see, that’s what makes it so enjoyable to work with them and I guess to watch them play.
I expressed my gratitude to my staff, who worked hard even under pressure, people from Thailand and Germany hand in hand.
I expressed my gratitude to Mr. Thanusak, who did what he could to help and who turned out to be not only a friend of the team but a real football fan. I mentioned also Minister Kittiratt, the new Teammanager and how glad I would be to meet him soon to talk about all the things we could do and have to do right now and in the future.
And of course I expressed my gratitude to you, the fans, the people from Thailand. Who helped us so much and who gave us always that feeling >we will never walk alone< that means so much to my staff and me, to the players, to all of us.
I started with that, with the good path we finally on last year, because we are now in danger to take the wrong turn. What happened the last weeks wasn’t helpful. It was sad because we all were so enthusiastic to start this year on a higher level of professionalism and confident.
That we didn’t played against the Emirats – that was a serious loss for the team.
It would have been the perfect preparation. The game against an All-star-team would have been of no help for us at the moment. That would have been a nice happening, but in the end without a serious value for the preparation. So we played against Ratchaburi in a trainingsmatch three times 30 minutes. This training was also a charity event – My gratitude to the people from Ratchaburi.
And of course the postponing of the trainings camp.
I invited the player for the 29.01. but someone postponed it to the 1.02.
It is of course inacceptable that a trainings camp is postponed without speaking to me, even more in our situation. It may seem a bit strange but in football, in our situation, two or three days mean a lot.
Right now we have five to six players with more or less serious injuries. Starting the camp three days earlier means three days and nights more treatment and that can decide if a player can play or not!
The coach is responsible in the end – and I know very well why I organize a schedule in the way I do, that’s my job! So the coach is the one who must be in charge for the time management. That’s why I was upset and I expressed that at the press conference.
I mentioned also that my team work right now of course on a few other projects to develop the Thai football. The DFB, the German football association will negotiate an intense future cooperation with the AFF at the end of the month. Everybody expect the Arabian countries to ask for help and support, for close bounds…
But we thought weeks ago that it would be helpful and a great opportunity to introduce Thailand as well.
From the east-eastern part of the world (from a German point of few) today only Japan and China have a “Memorandum of Understanding“, a real cooperation with the DFB. And such a cooperation means a lot, take a look at Japan. Now we negotiate with the DFB and it would be great to become partners. Worawi Makudi, some club managers, even the Ambassador of Germany here in Thailand, my team – we all will work together hand in hand to make this big step possible.
Back to what is most important right now. The game against Kuwait.
We are in a good mood. We are confident. We are in shape. We are hungry. We want to go to Australia.
We want to hear you cheering. We want to celebrate with you.
We know our opponent and we will give everything to win.
