What is "meta-cheese"?

I read this sentence from a magazine which says "It's not to be confused with the meta-cheese Aaron Spelling drama with the same title". I looked it up everywhere but can't find out what  it really means. It looks a lot like feta cheese though, I don't think it's derived from that and all the slangy senses for "cheese" itself don't fit in the context. The only thing that I know here is "meta". Does anyone know what it means? This is killing me : (
