Bangkok, January 2013 – Canon announced that the integration of Oce (Thailand) Limited into Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has been completed. This news follows the global announcement made on 22 December 2011 that Canon is the majority shareholder of Océ, enabling Canon to complete the integration for the benefit of customers. The completion of the integration process in Thailand has created a company that is a leader in the provision of end to end document imaging solutions. The combined entity will provide collective technology strength, enhanced scale and a larger product portfolio in the print solutions sphere to enterprise customers.
Spearheading the integration exercise is Mr Kensaku Konishi, the President and CEO of Canon Singapore who is responsible for leading and overseeing operations in South and Southeast Asia including the domestic market. Mr Konishi commented: “In the print space both Canon and Océ are leaders who have consistently pushed the technology and service boundaries in the provision of print solutions. We share a history of constant technology innovation and absolute focus on the customer. With the integration complete, customers of both entities can look forward to an expanded range of products and enhanced services offering which leverages the expertise of two giants in the print solutions industry.
The integration process for Thailand has been overseen by Mr. Wataru Nishioka, president and CEO of Canon Marketing (Thailand) who stated that “We are fully confident that the integration of Océ (Thailand) Limited into Canon Marketing (Thailand) will prove to be a winning combination that will bring clear and tangible benefits to our customers through our enhanced product and service offerings. The integration will also further strengthen our position in the market, helping us to achieve our goal of becoming the overall No. 1 brand in the print solution industry. I look forward to the opportunities that this New Year will bring for our newly-integrated company here in Thailand”.
Benefits of the Canon –Océ integration
The print management industry currently is in a period of consolidation, driven by the undeniable fact that scale is increasingly important. Only companies that are able to improve profitability through increased scale and best-in-class processes and infrastructure will play a leading role in the industry going forward. From this perspective, Canon and Océ form the ideal combination. Together, they are excellently positioned to optimize customer deployments and become the undisputed market leader.
Océ, one of the world's leading providers of document management and printing for professionals, brings to Canon its expertise and strengths in the areas of production printing, wide format printing and business services. Combined with Canon’s already comprehensive array of imaging solutions, customers will benefit from an enlarged range of high quality, innovative products and services in the newly integrated company
By combining the strengths of both companies, Canon will be in an even better position to address the specific local market conditions through greatly expanded hardware, software and services capabilities. The integration has created one of the largest print management solutions companies in Thailand. With the completion of the integration, 92 Océ Thailand staff have joined Canon Marketing (Thailand).
